your school is the most expensive in Nakhon, but it has the worst reputation in Nakhon! Strange that...

'The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom,'...Let's get the quotes correct if we're going to bandy insults around shall we? Anyways, my question is this: People are talking about the 'Best School' and they're saying (surprise surprise) that it's the school that they work at. Has anybody actually worked at another school? The people who are at kanlayanee...have you worked at srithammarat?...do you actually know what goes on? Or are you just basing your judgement on rumours and reputation...or better still...the fact that it is a 'christian' school. What about people suggest the best school they know... other than their own... :jawdrop:

| I personally think that these EP schools are a waste of money!! yes, the kids do learn a little English BUT for value for money they are a rip off !! I think the Changwat schools do a good job and i will send my sons there in the future, the students that come from a Changwat school are more down to earth and usually more willing to learn. Just my pinch of the white salty stuff............. | |

| HEHE Yes ofcourse we will all say that our own school is the best...
I do however not agree that the students in a buddist country should be forced to pray to a god they do not really belive in...
I have for many years seen with my own eyes what is going on at the other schools, Yes AMC is a very very good school, just not the English Programme any more.. -Sorry if that hurts your feelings. Good and dedicated students. I give AMC 5 out of 10 stars for students, for teachers I would just not even think about AMC in the same league as Kanlayanee...
Benjama Ratchutit has always been regarded as the best school in NST- Dont care what other people says here... Students are good and they do generally pick the best students for their EP- For teachers Benjama is a bloody nightmare this year... They should seriously start working for a new management.
Kanlayanee has the reputation of being the best English speaking school in NST for longer than even VTR has been here... Nothing we can change about that... The students are not the best in the EP, but they do win a lot of competitions during the EP days every december... For teachers I do have to say that it is the best school by far, hands down. We have more freedom to do what we want, we have a boss that takes care of us, we have support from the PTA....
The other Matthayom schools in NST are far behind these three with the next one being Triom Udon. I do not know much about that school but I do know that they live on the reputation from their sisterschool in Bangkok...
Go ahead argue about all the schools, but do not forget that I have been here for a long time...
AMC - Private expensice school- Thais like becuase they can show of their money. Benjama- Good school with bad management- can not spell FUN Kanlayanee- Good school with good management. We do have fun there...

'The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom,': Sorry my mistake, but I do have to say that this is probably the stupidest thing I have ever heard... Why did the pick this one???? Why not, and I am just spitballing here... The Love of the Lord is the begining of Wisdom.. Why fear??? I am not christian so I am not brainwashed but please explain for an infidel...

| Nobody understands this quote....Nobody. I guess the school started as a mission school for boys and these kinds of institutions are based on fear (as is most of religion)..hence, the choice of school motto. Rather unfortunate, I have to agree. | |

| What are all these opinions based on? hearsay? properly constructed user surveys? I'm presuming the former...
No matter how long you've been here, every school offers a different learning experience, just like every teacher does with every different student.
Far too many variables to even begin making sweeping statements about environments you know very little about.
Don't you think?
Rant over. :gator: | |

| Snowstorm, you sure do blow hard sometimes. Have you ever seen a single one of our teachers in the classroom? I have seen, or rather heard, you teach (remember that silly teacher training thing about three years ago at Thaksin Hotel?). And no offense intended, but it seems you're up on a pretty high horse. | |

| Yes I have seen and I have spoken to many teachers, I am not saying that the teachers are better in another school, I am purly stating that our school has more fun than the ones I know about, not my thoughts but the students that I teach, they do come from several schools around here...
Also when they start the M4 level, so dont tell me I do not know...
Daren, Yes I know that thing at Thaksin Hotel, that was a very painful experience... I do not think you should judge me by that standard... I was forced to do it, I did not choose what to teach, but the teachers that I had there all said it was fun and they have since called my boss several times to get me on one day camps, sorry but the teachers might have had fun, my English might not be perfect, my methods is surely not perfect, but I sure get the people I teach to have some fun.
For the rest, I really dont care...
This was a question about schools, if you felt that I was slagging off you as a teacher and not your school, sorry about that... IT WAS AIMED FOR THE SCHOOL...
GOD, Yellow card for that? You are almighty and powerful...
Have a nice day sirs, | |

| Alright, fair enough. You're not talking about the teachers. What are you talking about then? How much fun the students have? How friendly the management is?
This topic started off inane and seems to have gone downhill form there...
Well here's to long, and well needed summer breaks! :D
